Hi.
It would also be great if there was an input function from the keyboard after drawing a rectangle (draw.rect) in Graphics mode. With the draw.stringinrect function one can already make a good GUI label/TextBox. Adding an input function from the keyboard while in Graphics mode would allow one to also make a GUI Input Box in TouchLua as well.
Thanks for considering :-)

This sounds really cool. What are you making?

HI, 14sum, thanks for asking!
I’ve mostly been using Lua as a part-time hobby to help me make things that help me at work as a teacher, researcher, and physician. Since I’m often mult-tasking and dealing with different sets of data and information, I’ end up using my iPad most of the day and when I learned about Lua, it seemed like the most efficient way for a hobbyist programmer to program on the iPad. I recently made an app that lets the user choose an Excel spreadsheet from an iPad Documents folder and then pick from the spreadsheets columns or individual cells to view. I hope to also make some medical and medical teaching apps for the students I work with.
I made the actual app with Codea as it seems to have the most flexibility and power (especially when I was able to use one of the forum member’s GUI utility). However, I think the TouchLua+ app is the most structured Lua programming app on the iPad which I also like and was hoping could add some GUI features that I asked.
I’ve also recently been having fun playing around with Amulet’s browser based Lua IDE. It’s simple with powerful built in graphics commands which it seems to organize based on JavaScript nodes (which I otherwise don’t know very much about).
Have a great week.

Sorry, I read up a little more and realized that the nodes are a common gaming programming way of controlling multiple graphics objects. I’ve got a lot to learn from this and other forums :-)
